Swim Meet Reminder
Parents are not allowed to be sitting on deck with the coaches and swimmers at swimmeets. Swim Alberta allows only qualified coaches and officials to be on deck. If you want to be close to the action you need to volunteer to officiate. If you have any questions or comments on this please see Suzanne.
Parents Role
Be enthusiastic and supportive! Remember that your child is the swimmer and each one needs to establish their own goals and progress towards them. The best way to help children achieve their goals and reduce the natural fear of failure is through positive reinforcement. Encourage your swimmer and point out the things that he or she did well. Leave stroke and race analysis to the coaches. Do not burden your swimmer with winning or achieving best times. The most important part of your child’s swimming experience is self discover.
